Percentage of 'afro-caribbean' footballers in the top flight

Just watching MOTD, and watching Portsmouth v Newcastle. Is it just this fixture, or is there a very high number of African-origin footballers in the top flight football leagues. Loads of French/Africans. Is football going the way of sprinting and elite athletics as it becomes a faster and more physically demnading game?

Interested in the physiology of it all - so please refrain from any BNP-esque moments.

I think it is more to do with the emergence of African nations as footballing countries, and the bargains that can be had there... Much cheaper than their European equivilents.
