No real interest but did you see the damage to the pitch ? Is the FA so skint that
they have to rent the home of football to a load of Americans. I know they'll just
relay it but that seems to miss the point.

Not much different to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

who gives a crap what Wembley is like. those bunch of over paid chavs will screw it up anyway and spend most of the time rolling around on the floor anyway.

Was there tonight and it was superb, 100 times better than when i was at Eng vs Estonia and Eng vs Germany

I'm sure that they will be able to repair any damage, they have about 4 weeks before the next England game. The bigger question should be how can you spend 700mil on a stadium and not look at putting a retractable roof on it, Cardiff managed it and they only spent 100+mill on theirs.

I've just got back from the game and also enjoyed it, apart from the Dolphins getting beat again!!! I also went to one of the NHL games at the O2. Both events were very well run and presented. I hope that they both bring games over here again.

Dophins were pretty poor and im not sure how they only lost by 3 in the end. Stadium is nice, everything else is a massive joke. I've been to England vs Germany and England vs Estonia and not only was the atmosphere crap, they kept running out of things - beer/hot dogs etc and again last night, just after half time the whole stadium ran out of hot food and beer and they had to call for extra's. What an absolute joke.

I don't think i'll go back to Wembley much in the future. Getting there and back is also a total pain

We headed back into Soho for some food at Bodeans and caught the Pats game. They are simply awsome 52-7 over the Redskins. Best two teams and best two QB's go head to head next week as the Pats take on the Colts.

Worst sport ever!!!!!!!

They stop every 5 seconds and then one guy sticks his 4r5e in his teammates face. WTF is all that about.

And why is it called football when played primarily with hands?

Now if they decided to host an MLB games (Go Astros !!) that would be a totally
different matter.

Out of interest - what did it cost to see the game ?

Ticket prices were something like £45, £65 and £90 for the normal seat areas, and then the Club Wembley seats were separate packages I think.

Its deff to complex for some, so no shame in not understanding it.

It is definately complex, but any sport that relies on other entertainment during the game is doing something wrong! hehe

Planning on the same as a friend has just moved with his job to Chicago, so thinking of going over this time next year and aiming to see NFL and NHL and maybe the baseball, just hope tickets are easy to come by. Big Dolphins fan so will also have to stop of in Miami - hopefully better weather than yesterday!!

I've tried to watch this, and basketball, and Ice Hockey. By far the best is ice hockey. non-stop play. Basketball makes a mockery of scoring. It is no longer an event scoring, as it occurrs so often, that it has nothing special in it. American footy goes on for too long, too many breaks, and too many field swaps. Defense on, then offense on, and so on. Bring someone on just to kick the ball... Sheesh. No wonder they need extra entertainment, (and the cheerleaders are very ..erm.. entertaining). But the sport should be the entertainment. Give me football, or rugby, or even cricket!

Have to agree with you about Basketball - scoring is just to frequent. Ice Hockey is also a stop/start game but definitely not to the extent of American Football, but it all depends on the how whistle happy the refs our and the style of hockey the teams play. But thinking about it, is it really any more stop start than a football game? maybe not. If you timed the ball in play in a football game I bet its not in play more than 60mins out of the 90.

But even when the ball is out of play, the players are still running around, and positioning. It's not like they all huddle up, and shout numbers at each other. When there is a throw in, they don't strike up the band, or get some girls to do some gymnastics...

But what about the line out in rugby - using codes, the scrum. 2 or 3 players stood over the ball discussing who is going to take the free kick in football. All sports have there stop and starting and planning, its just that American Football is very tactics driven. Although the extended stops for TV adverts is annoying, but I bet if Sky/ITV could they would try and stick a 20second advert in when the ball goes out for a goal kick, or a player was down injured.

What happens off the pitch regarding music and dancers I'm not bothered about, as long as the guy with the drum is not sat behind me!! and the dancers are not stood in front of me blocking the view of the pitch (but then again if they look the Dolphins cheerleaders yesterday lick ).

The cheerleaders were the most entertaining part. Probably cos I didn't have a clue what was going on.
