I'm just wondering after such a poor result against Russia and increasing pressure on the FA to sack Steve McClaren.

There is one man who is out of a job who would be IMHO an excellent England manager.

Anyone else agree? I could just imagine the arrogant comments after the game and at press conferences.

I think unfortunately it looks like our chance of qualifying for EURO 2008 are very very slim, which means it is the first international competition we haven't qualified for since that tw*t Graeme Taylor was in charge.

I also think Robinson and Lampard should be out of the team. It's time to pick players on there form and not for the name on the back of their shirt. Theo Walcott, ok he's not brilliant at the moment but has played some good games recently. why not give him a chance down the left?

Cheers

Jose couldnt manage to win cup competitions when he had all the players he could buy.

He's not a manager to inspire a team. El Tel back please! biggrin

I seriously hope so, I doubt it will happen as he's not a "yes" man which the FA seem to prefer.

Same reason why Brian Clough never got the chance.

I think "The Special One" would be a good choice. As much as he behaved like a prat sometimes at least he was entertaining - plus the mind games during the international comps would be cool.....

Or Martin O'Neill - always thought he was high quality. But what do I know? I was brought up on Aussie Rules.......

well, Guus Hiddink obviously but would hate to have England winning under him seeing as how the Aussies lost him.....

Fvck it, ill manage england then. What we need is someone with passion, shouting at players, not just standing there under some brolly afraid to get your hair wet!
Croatia could have beat us 6 or 7-0 lastnight. We played dreadfully, were out and rightfully so. Why oh why would you play 4-5-1 when you are apparantly 'playing for a win?' McClaren played for a draw and it backfired big time. 2-0 down after 14 minutes, penalty we won was incredibly soft. The only, and i mean ONLY decent move of the match was the cross by Beckham and Crouch's finish. Apart from that we were fvcking awful, and thats at the absolute best.

another vote for Tel. Couldn't stand the thought of that prick Jose getting the job. Anyone could have done the same job as he did at Chelski with all that cash and a lot would have done better.

i'd like to see someone like Stuart Pearce or Roy Keane - someone who can get the team fired up instill some passion maybe throw boots at players in the dressing room. Can you imagine any of todays players playing a full game after having some stitches on the pitch and then bandaged up like Terry Butcher! Thats the mentality England players need.
