Rafa's luck appears to be running out. Some bizarre decisions at the weekend, indifferent form for the last 6 weeks and now what looks to be an early exit from the Champions' League. I fear he may be on borrowed time.....

I did think at the end of the season he will be gone, xmas is too early unless we are out of all comps.

Though the Gerrard issue was not as bad people make out.

Oh for gawds sake, you wendyball supporters should show more faith. He's a proven quality manager and he took Liverpool to a European cup and a European cup final when quite frankly the team wasn't as good as its results.

I've a lot of respect for the man but he's been losing it on and off the pitch for a while now. I just wonder whether he's running out of ideas. Time will tell I guess. Not fair to judge when he hasn't got his best team out, but I sometimes think he doesn't know what his best team is.

He's a good manager in Europe, not so hot in the domestic league and cups.

And has got worse since Pako left. Well Pako is still at the club doing gardening leave to prevent him going to Manchester Utd.

The Pako thing is one of the symptoms......

Certainly not the Special one aka Jose Mourinho. I can't stand that guy.

I rather Rafa - the team seem to be on strange patch at the moment frown

The idea that Mourinho is on the market, has said he will return to England at some point and was keen to manage us before being offered the Chelsea job worries me greatly. I think we need to stick with Rafa in the way the Mancs and Arse have stuck with their managers.

The departure of Pako may have been a contributory factor to current form but he was technically only a fitness coach. We have too many players who can't play unless they get a cuddle from the manager. Rafa is no man manager. Maybe he needs a coach to work alongside him and look after the more sensitive players.

On a more controversial note, and I know to some this is blasphemy, but maybe the problem is the Captain? His form of late has been poor and for me Mascherano and Alonso would be my preferred central mid pairing. Carra is also more of a motivator on the pitch.

Agreed, I know he seems to be under fire as the new Lampard but he really is useless and has been diving too much this season and has not been giving his all.

Totally agree, he gave his reason after the game and it kindda made sense. As good as he is Gerard was dictating the way Liverpool were playing and it wasn't getting them the win, getting him off the pitch changed the tempo and worked a treat. Last nights team selection got him back in the side which I thought looked like a good follow on. Only mistake Rafa made was leaving it so long to bring Crouch on, oh and relying on Kuyt.

Thinnk this is the biggest mistake he has been making all season. How many times does Crouch have to prove himself to become a regular! He scores more goals per minute on the pitch than practically anyone else in a red shirt and come to that, a white shirt in the shape of the national side too! Rafa and Maclaren need to wake up and see how good a player and goalscorer he really is.
