Another tough day in the field for Vaughan and Co. chasing leather,I predict India to make the 600 and we'll fall well short follow-on and then still loose by an innings and maybe 100 runs.

Oh the joy of an English Summer and the Test Series wink

Not looking good for England is it frown

I suspect only a declaration will prevent India passing 600. Pretty impressive total given that no-one has hit a century yet!

I think it's time to dig out the Ashes dvd (the winning, not 5-0 drubbing) and think of better times. This pitch is no good for anyone, especially the viewers. Even being out in the garden in the sunshine with TMS is a chore, old Boycs is really on his high horse this morning.

I was at the Oval yesterday and it was funny. After lunch it was so clear the England boys had completely lost interest as had the crowd. I spent at least an hour drinking beer and reading the paper and didnt vene look at the game. Livened up a bit after tea but biggest shout of the day went to the bloke with the trumpet / horn thing!

Good day out but as a game it was all over as far as England were concerend by lunch!

I hope England aren't playing for the draw.

With a target of 500 and currently 77-0 I think they should ease the rate up, if they still haven't lost a wicket by lunchtime I think they should play 20/20 style cricket and go for runs, really put the wind up India. Who cares if we draw this one, we've lost the series. What difference if there between a 1-0 series loss and a 2-0. Everyone knows we should have won the first test. Only bad light ending it when we only needed one wicket to win.

Come of Vaughan, show some guts and tell the boys to start hitting the ball.

you are joking arent you?
They would be all out for less than 200, if they started slogging.

I think they are doing the right thing by going slow, and they seem to be pulling it off, with a slim outside chance of a win still on the cards with 285 left to get( hang on with 2 hours left there is no chance)

But they will only lose or draw anyway there's no chance of a win at normal test innings run per over rate, at least they could give it a go and make it a bit interesting.

you are right they are only 150 short, and could have tried more..bit of a shame.
