For the first weekend in ages there's no Le Mans, TT, RIAT, charity do, car collections, so a quiet Saturday night infront of the tv is in order. Thank god for the night of boxing thats been arranged. The Arthur fight is warming up nicely with some tasty shots and with Rees v M'Baye and then Enzo it's going to be a good night for ITV.

Then over to Vegas for Hopkins v Wright. After the scuffle at the weigh in this is going to be an interesting fight, all out aggression or chess match? Depends which Executioner turns up I guess, but I'm hoping Winky can pull this one off and force Hopkins to look at Calzaghe.

Time to get the pizza........

Good fights all round from Cardiff! AAA deserves to get his world title shot and if that happens in Edinburgh Castle what a night that would be! Excellent result for Rees in beating M'baye, but you really can see what Hatton turned him down. He was never in the fight and I just think Rees will lose out when he faces a 'proper' fighter. Also, Frank Warren, don't for one minute think Hatton would fight him!

Enzo always impresses me. A big strong lad who can easily unify the titles. I remember when Johnny Nelson once worked the pads for him he was amazed how hard he hit (3 tonnes apparently). If Haye gets McCormeck, Enzo gets the IBF, that'd be 4 titles on the line in the UK. Haye wins!

Just watching Winky v Hopkins......

You mean you didn't stay up ... ? Lightweight ... (see what I did there?)

It all went true to form the Hop v Winky fight - Winky forced to come out and fight being the blown up middleweight he is ... I thought it was a LOT closer than the judges had it - but on a Golden Boy Promotions card, what do you expect?

If Calaghe fights Hopkins - he'll get beat IMO. Calzaghe that is. But he'll make a lot of money. Would they make it at light heavy though? Guess they would.

Did they show the Michael Katsidis fight on the highlights - guess not maybe. He is ONE tough cookie ... cut to shreads he was ... but still won, against a game Phillipino.

Not a chance, it was hardly The Ashes now was it? I wanted this to be a classic so much but just knew it'd be a 12 round affair. Giving it to Hopkins by so many rounds though was a bit wide of the mark. Although I was a bit concerned by the pro-Winky talk from the Sky blokes.

Apparently Hopkins called out Calzaghe for a fight at the Yankee stadium. I'm there!!

Missed this one but have a look at the pictures here, some new two handed punch from Amonsot looks interesting.
