It looks like it should be a decent fight this weekend. Unfortunately (or so i thought) its not on Sky Box Office to order. However it is on Setanta sports and after looking online, it seems there is some deal where if you pay for a month, you get another 2 free. It actually works out cheaper than Sky Box office in the end.

So anyone going to be watching? I assume its going to be a late/very early start.

I'll be listneing on the radio as I assume that R5 have this covered. Usually I'd get it booked on tv but I'm away form home at a charity "ball" so will reply on the radio.

It's a tough tough fight for Ricky! The bloke may be coming up from light-weight but his last few fights have all been controversial with his weight so it's not a big jump. Having been away for 3 weeks I've not been following any progress of the training but no news is good news I suppose.

This could be a late finish for Ricky, either TKO in 10 or close on points.

I agree. I think its going to be his toughest fight to date. Well i have ordered setanta for the fight but put it on DD. Probably bad idea as i will forget to cancel it after and then they have another 40 exclusive prem games on. Dont know how im going to squeeze it all in!

I hear that Rooney is supposed to be leading him in with Hattons belt. Apparently hasnt gone down well with his City followers..hardly surprising really!

Thats Hatton through and through. He supports City but really appreciates Rooney as a sportsman and couldn't care less that he plays for ManU. I'm sure there's some relation of Ronney's that Hatton knows, an uncle or something like that who he trained/fought once. Can't remember the story, it'll be around somewhere.

I think most of Rooneys family were boxers and Rooney himself was going that way too until football took over

There's reports in loads of papers about the fact that a load of Hatton fans aren't best pleased with his link up with Rooney. What a bunch of tosh! As Hatton says himself "if they are true fans it won't bother them". What a star!

It also says that Barrera is leading him in anyway. The bad news is that Castillo hasnt made the weight yet and Hatton has said he will pull out if he doesnt make it. He better do after i spent the time getting Setanta switched on. Fight time is 4am.....stay up all through or catch a couple of hours kip beforehand - oh the decisions

Kip before hand. For the Calzaghe v Lacy fight I went to bed and set the alarm for midnight. Perfect time to wake up, open a beer, order a curry and settle down wide awake.

If Castillo can't make the weight it's an absolute disgrace. He failed in his last two fights with Corrales to make the weight and that was light-weight. I'd be keeping an eye on his trainer to see if he sticks his feet under the scales again.

Oh yes! In the last 5/6 years I've only missed 2 or 3 fights and have been to all of the fights in the UK. Still waiting for the big fight in the US to justify flying over there to watch Hatton. The Lewis fights in the US were always a massive occasion but as yet Ricky isn't in that league. Won't be long though, get passed Castillo and maybe Cotto could lure me over.

Awesome! You know it's a serious punch when a world class fighter reacts like that.

I really hope that Mayweather steps up now, I think Hatton would be able to take care of him as well at the moment, that would really prove to the Yanks that he is worth taking very seriously. Even in that right up they say that Castillo wasn't at his best, like they are trying to take something away from the victory.

See the bbc sport page, looks like Mayweather fancies it. He's even willing to step down to 147lbs!!!
I think money will be a BIG BIG stumbling block.

Unfortunately, I don't think Hatton would beat Mayweather, but it would be a very good fight.

Mayweather is too good for Hatton and it has all the makings of a really boring fight. Hatton will spend most of the time trying to hold Mayweather whilst Mayweather dances around the ring picking Hatton off for 12 rounds. Mayweather will win on points easily.

I wasn't that impressed with Mayweather against De La Hoya, it struck me that they have both lost a little bit and neither of them wanted it 110%. I'd fancy Hatton in that fight to be honest.

Unfortunately I agree with you.

However, nothing would please me more than to see a genuinely nice guy like Hatton de-rail Mr I Love Me Mayweather, I was hoping de la Hoya would, but let's face it, he really is a superb boxer. I think I am right, but in order for the fight to go ahead, Hatton would have to step up a weight and Mayweather, would be stepping back down (to his more comfortable 147lbs) It's a hell of a lot to ask a fighter to step up a weight and beat the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

Still, I'd pay to watch it...

Wrong wrong wrong!

Hatton is too clever, Billy Graham is too clever, Kerry is too clever! The team behind Hatton know him so well and work on opponents so well that what you've written is exactly whats expected.

Trust me. Hatton will work on cutting the ring, moving PBF to the ropes, getting in the digs and only risk holding if he's done the job on the way in. PBF fights on the outside, uses speed and pitter patter punches from all over the shop.

I'm biased, but I'd honestly put Hatton up there as one of the best p4p in the world. 12 rounds possible, boring never, PBF in the bag not a chance.

If this is signed I'm there!!
