Summer Transfers
Discussion
Now the football is over the real business of transfer speculation can start. So who's in and who's moving on?
Spurs seem to have started the ball rolling with Garteth Bale having a medical at White Hart Lane.

Not really sure I favour big money moves for unproved young players with potential. It seems a safer bet buying a proven player in his mid 20's who are often cheaper.

Interesting to see where Sidwell will fit into Jose's plans when Essien and Mikel are available.
Being honest, I don't think he will. I think he'll end up like Shaun Wright-Phillips and rot on the bench, occasionally being brought on for 20 minutes in games which Chelsea seem to have wrapped up.I think it's a terrible waste. I wouldn't say Sidwell is by any means world class, but is definately a grafter and would really suit a top mid-table team like Newcastle or Bolton, as these are agrresive play style teams like Reading.
My attention is all on the Owen Hargreaves/Bayern Munich/Man Utd affair. If you believe the press, Man Utd have agreed a fee and are now waiting on a medical to take place. Don't know if there's any truth to that, but I certainly hope so.
Also would like to see Eto'o play in the Premiership next season. But the latest reports suggest that he is at Barcelona until 2010.
Just my 2p's worth

Steve Sidwell and Gareth Bale, both players linked with Newcastle not so long ago
I hope Allardyce has some suitable summer targets instead...

Wouldn't imagine that Allardyce would be interest in an unproven teenager like Bale, not really his style. Now he has a large transfer budget it will be interesting to see what kind of players he goes after,I hope Allardyce has some suitable summer targets instead...

Dean Windass to continue his once a year move of clubs to Hull for the 22nd time as the pie shop is closer
Andy Cole to Sunerland to re-enact his partnership off the pitch with Dwight Yorke (no videos allowed)
Lee Bowyer to Slade FC to catch up with Fletcher and join Duncan (Disorderly) Fergusen and Lee Hughes

Note to Kevin Bond: Oi, ttmunch, get some bloody players, we've only got 9 under contract at the moment and football strangely enough is 11-a-side. And make sure they're better than the make-weight loan players we had last season - looked like you'd loaned them from Asda.

Owen Hargreaves is expected to complete his transfer to Manchester United next week, BBC Sport understands.
United have agreed a fee in the region of £17m with Bayern Munich for the England midfielder. Hargreaves passed a medical at United last week and all that remains is the formality of signing a contract, which will be for either three or four years. The 26-year-old will fly to Canada on Tuesday to visit his family and should return to Manchester early next week. United failed with bids to sign Hargreaves last summer and in January.
The midfielder enjoyed an illustrious 10 seasons at Bayern, winning six league titles and the 2001 Champions League. But his final season was plagued by injury and ended in disappointment, as Bayern finished fourth in the Bundesliga, missing out on Champions League qualification. Hargreaves missed four months at the start of the campaign because of a broken leg and went on to play in only nine league games. He will also miss England's upcoming matches against Brazil and Estonia because of a knee problem.
