So what is Berbatov worth then?

I read a daft rumour today that Chelsea were planing a £30m swoop for Berbatov.
Stupid value, I thought.
Or is it?
Based on this years performances, which strikers in the Premiership are worth more? Any?
What do you reckon?

Compared with Shevchenko (who Chelsea paid £30M for at the beginning of last season) I'd say hes worth £60M

It's difficult.
He has a 3 year contract I think, not sure.
We don't need the money (up to a point).
His sale would be a MASSIVE customer relations -up.

I'd be dissapointed if they took less than £40M, but he isn't actually worth that (if you see what I mean).

I think he is priceless for Spurs,
He has settled and is a diffrent striking option than the other 3 they have,
Not many strikers have that 'all-roundness' that Berbatov has, plus would a replacement settle right in like he has? So replacing him would be very very expensive, and a partial risk.

But if City want him we will offer 2 awesome players in Samaras and Corradi

Everytime a Spurs player hits a bit of form they are linked with Chelski, defo, lennon and now Berbatov.

Berbatov signed a four-year-deal at White Hart Lane last summer.

It would be massively defeatist for Spurs to sell there best performer this season especially after selling Carrick last season. However if Carrick was £18 millon then you need to be looking at a minimum of £35 million for Berbatov.


They only prem striker that would command as big a transfer fee would be Rooney. Henry's and Owen's best days look to be behind them.

For a player that has gel'd so well for Spurs I'd say they'd have to looking at more than that to let him go. Is he worth that? Personally I don't think so.

Berbatov is worth more to Spurs than any money in the bank... Spurs suffered by making a killing on Carrick. Berbatov is top drawer and I wouldn't baulk at Spurs purchasing him based on his current form for at least £20m, if he were to be somewhere else (thankfully he isn't).

Also, in a strategic sense, Spurs would keep hold of him as a draw for other class players.
