I don't particularly agree that Chelsea should have been given a penalty at Newcastle, but the decision not to award a penalty to Boro at Old Trafford was (yet again) outrageous.

The sooner something is done to combat referees favouring firstly Man Utd, then the other big teams - the better!

I totally agree. As a United fan, I can honestly say I was embarrassed when 'Boro weren't awarded a penalty.

It was cast iron.

HOWEVER, A PENALTY IS STILL NOT A GUARANTEE OF A GOAL SO IT IS WRONG TO AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THAT THIS REFEREEING DECISION DEPRIVED CHELSEA OF ANYTHING AT ALL IN THE WAY OF CLAWING POINTS BACK - AND AS MUCH AS JOSE IS CORRECT IN HIS ANALYSIS, CHELSEA HAVE HAD THEIR FAIR SHARE OF 'DECISIONS' THIS SEASON.

It should have been a penalty but the stats in today's Times say MU have conceded 3 penalties this season at OT, Chelsea have not conceded any at all at the Bridge. Liverpool have also yet to concede any at home, Arsenal have conceded one. So MU have conceded 3 times as many penalties at home as the 3 other top teams combined.

I can't believe the special needs one is making such an issue with this, ok it was probably a justified penalty but Chelsea's opponents have had their fair share of penalty shouts declined this season.

Refs decisions seem to be getting better these days but I'd still be in favour of using cameras for alot of stuff.

IMHO Mourinho should be more concerned with his team playing like a bag of poop.

I saw it live and said: 'Penalty'. Afterwards the replay showed it wasn't as O'Shea got something on the ball.

I hate to say it as I'm defo not a Man Utd fan but the ref got it right. But of course Fergie didn't comment on that (the fact it was a brilliant decision and could easily have been given) but you could have been quite sure that he would have done had it been given. He's as blind as Wenger at times.

As for Mourinho - cobblers. Utd give you a golden chance and you cock it up - don't blame the ref - blame your own players - they were the ones who failed to score.

It's always someone else's fault with these top guys.

Didn't see the blades one though - apparently that WAS a penalty. In a big game, at OT, if Utd aren't 3-0 up, refs will NOT give a penalty against the home team ... been going on for years.

Oh, but if it's 0-1 and some Utd player trips over a blade of grass anywhere in their own half - he points to the spot normally.
