I see some clubs change from F.C. to AFC,mainly after financial troubles or in Wimbledons case because they were sold down the river.
Why dont they still reform as F.C. again, why resort to AFC?.
What does AFC stand for?

Cheers.

Association Football Club. The word 'soccer' comes from the 'Association' bit too.

Technically every club in the league is an Association Football Club, it's just some choose to make the distinction while others don't.

I believe in the case of AFC Wimbledon, they use said moniker to distinguish themselves from the club that became MK Dons.
