They had a bit about football rights - wasn't really listening - but they, BBC News refereed to Sky etc. as pay TV.
So when did I have not to pay to watch the BBC via the license fee?
I used to think that the BBC news was unbiased and true but it now looks more like ITV/tabloid news.

Pay TV is the name commonly given to channels which require a single payment per event viewed - hence, pay-per-view.

So no, no bias.

And secondly ITVs football coverage is nowhere near as good as the BBC.

Actually, the match action will be identical. (The same footage will be supplied to the BBC and SKY for them to use as highlights packages)

However, the "analysis" bit will be to ITV's (poorer) standards (Let's delay showing the post match imterviews, so we can get another ad break in)

SKY is not pay per view. PPV is SKY box office etc..

You pay a subscription to watch SKY in the same way as you pay the licence fee to fund the bloated BBC. The difference is you get a CHOICE whether you pay for SKY or not.

So yes, much bias.

I don't suppose this will leave the BBC with enough cash to get hold of F1.

Now that would be better n the beeb (no ad breaks)

Hahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha

The most naive statement I have ever read.

BBC has always been in the pocket of the incumbent government.

The licence fee is a tax. Unlike nearly all other taxes we pay, this one is ring-fenced.

I spend more than the licence fee on fuel tax every month. If you really want to have a moan, think about how much fuel tax the Government collects which is not spent on the transport infrastructure.

Completely wrong, unless you are from the US.

licence or U.S. license n.
1. a certificate, tag, document, etc., giving official permission to do something.
2. formal permission or exemption.

license vb. (tr.)
1. to grant or give a licence for (something, such as the sale of alcohol).
2. to give permission to or for.

So only subtle if you spell English like a septic.

But if you spell difference 'differce', I can understand your confusion.
