Watching the Tottenham match at the moment, and theres one thing bugging me.

David Pleat.

I appreciate commentators who are insightful, and know a bit about the teams, to make the viewing more interesting.
But David Pleat is just terrible. He says nothing of interest, he has no charisma, and his voice gets on my nerves.

I appreciate what he has done in the past, but i dont think that commentary is the right job for him at all. IMHO, ITV would be better off with someone else.

As a Watford fan, I believe your post is far too benevolent to David Pleat...

...kerb-crawling pervert that he is

Pleat always makes me laugh with his mispronunciations of foreign players names. hehe He's not too good with some of the English ones either.

Still, he's handy for the crew to have around if they want to go kerb crawling in any of the towns they visit. laugh

A David Pleat and Jackie Charlton commentating team would make for a good 2 hours of entertainment.

JC - "That big fella on the ball again, great pass to the short lad on the wing........"
Pleat - ".....and he crosses it.......and........Ibrimovitchiaminism's header just goes wide"

Pleats finest moment was being able to get away with wearing a beige suit, beige socks, beige shoes and beige hair whilst running like a big girl onto the pitch when Luton managed to stay up in the First division after beating relegation in the last minutes of their last match.

Was that not the Littlewoods cup final at Wembly in 1988 when they beat Arsenal 3-2 ?
