wooohooo the Geordies
Once again Bramble played a great game when needed (I say that like its a normal event ) but I just hope he keeps it up for next week. The Dutch leg of the tie will see them attack ALOT. Best hope for Toon goals will be that the defence are still cacking it at the pace of Martins and Dyer (combined with some fantastic one-touch lay-offs like last night).
Great to see Roeder keep faith in Solano at RB as well, and not drop Carr straight into his usual role. Was better to play like that, Carr got forward on a few occasions on the left - which Taylor doesn't usually manage when he's been put in at wing-back.

I don't like Taylor playing anywhere but in the centre, its what he's best at doing by miles. Nobby was Nobby as per usual and done whatever is asked of him without a fuss.
Martins and Dyer ( although I hate to say it about Dyer) had fantastic games aswell, as well as Super Super Shay.
The only slight disappointment imo was Parker just didnt look all there.

Yep. Though Az's 2 goals keep the tie interesting, especially as AZ have such a good home record.
Still some very good teams left in the competition.

AZ have conceded 2 goals in every home UEFA match so hopefully we'll be okay. Info below blagged from NUFC.COM:

But AZ also haven't lost a home european game in 28 ties. Not that it should matter really as they need to win, but still should be an interesting and entertaining game.
Butt just stopped AZ from launching the ball downfield and scoring whilst Given was stranded.
Gutted though, another standard display from us.
Only we would fail to score against a team who concedes lots of goals at home, judging by their previous home ties.
