The big one - can United get a 12 point lead (albeit for an hour or two) or will the Scousers be fired up and on extra charge to dent the Red Devils title hopes?

Massive game this, sure to be some 'passion'.

I'm bloody well working until lunchtime so won't get in to watch it until the 2nd half. Will probably opt to SKY+ it instead.

Come on UNITED !

Agreed its a massive game! One of the biggest, if not the biggest of every season.

The game doesn't need any extra incentive by way of league positions, its always a game both sides want to win due to the huge rivalry.

We (Liverpool) have got a great record at home and are playing well, but this season the dirty scumbags are also playing well.

Think it will be a close game and one that will keep us on the edge of our seats for most of it.

I don't give a monkeys about Chelsea closing the gap.

I like every Liverpool fan, wants to beat MAN UTD, end of!!

Come on LIVERPOOL!!

If Utd play like they did against Reading and Lille not to mention Fulham then the Scousers have a chance. If not then its Utd all the way.

Come on you Reds - that's Liverpool, not some Red Devil team from Old Toilet! Definitely the biggest game of the league season for both clubs and with our recent home record and Man U desparate to open a bigger gap over Soviet West London FC, it will be a cracking game. I will vote for a 1-0 win to Liverpool - come on you Scouse thumbup

I support neither side, but watched 'cos I had nothing else to do.

I'd be interested to hear opinions regarding what Scholes did to get sent off, compared with what Lampard and Fabregas did in the League Cup Final to get just a booking..... scratchchin

Spawny as ever! Perfect Bellamy goal disallowed and even with Rooney crocked and Scholes sent off for a missed punch from the school of Foxy Boxing, Man U still managed to scrape a win. Gutted! Hopefully 12 points becomes zero with a series of unlikely defeats, but I doubt it!

As for Soviet West London FC, Manchester Bucanneers and Yankee Doodle Anfield - they are all very true. Just the way of football in recent years with massive money takeovers the order of the day. C'est la vie!

To be fair, Scholes took a wild swing with his elbow. If he'd have connected, he'd have wiped the guys face clean off his cheekbones. He had to go, I'm afraid to say.

not convinced, scholes pulled out of the swipe when he noticed a head in his way hehe sending off for being upset it seems.

cant believe they allowed an "inexperienced" refree take control of one of the biggest matches of the season (especially considering animosity between fans), who makes these decisions? also someone should get the ref a watch that works

I thought the ref did alright, he got the big decisions right - dissallowed goal & sending off - and generally let the game run quite well. Liverpool really should have won that, particularly in the second half United gave them the upper hand but approach play wasn't really incisive enough and Bellamy for all his running was ineffective.
Once again you have to wonder what may have happened had Gerrard played central for the whole game.... another smash & grab for United, fair play to Fergie he was pretty honest about that post match. Its not over yet but I fear that could be it for our title challenge - doesn't matter how many games we win, we need United to start losing and that doesn't look like happening any time soon...

Utd went there for a draw. Bellamy goal was rightly disallowed (anyway the ref made up for it by msiing the obvious penalty. Great result !!!!
