Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, I was wanting to post a thread on rugby players on PH, so here it is!

I play rugby for Loughborough, used to play for Milton Keynes last season and played for Coventry in the 00-01 season, I did my back "in" during practice at Cov and had a sabatical between 01 and 05. Before I went to uni, I played at a high Scottish School boys level.

I am 25 in a few weeks and I play tight-head prop only!

So as Cilla used to say, "Whats your name and where do you come from?" Or where do you play, club and position.

Cheers

Richard

I play in Hong Kong for Kowloon 3rd team. It's my first season playing rugby (I'm 32!) and I play outside center. 5'11" 13st 10lb.

I broke my nose (or rather had my nose broken for me) in the first game of the season playing openside flanker so have dropped into the backs until my knowledge of the game has improved - safety first (if such a thing exists in rugby)

Centre - retired at the age of 37 - still miss it after all this time - now watch as much as possible , but £70 to watch England at Twickenham is getting a little tiresome, better times to come - soon I hope.

Played back row for a team now in the Scottish Premier 1 (Dundee High FP)- they were in 4 when I played for them, also played loose head prop a few times and enjoyed the one on one contact, moved to Aberdeen and played for Aberdeenshire for a couple of seasons then moved to Ellon, by this time I had become a bit of a bloater due to a bad knee injury and a season out.

Played prop, mainly loose head, for Ellon for many years until I moved to Stionehaven where I had a couple of seasons with Mackie FP.

Finally retired aged 40 and have the bad knees and ankles to show for it. Still love the game and go along to watch local games when I get the time.

Previously played for school, uni and the Stoneygate Barbarians sevens team.

I'm in my first season at Clacton (although only played a couple of games due to moving and other committments), used to play at Hitchin on and off since primary school, and university.

Usually play back-row, although reasonably handy at scrum-half or the centre, and occasionally to be found lurking on the wing!

I did manage to play 'all' 15 positions a couple of seasons ago (albeit front row in uncontested games)!!!

Same here. Them were the days - learning the great game on the school rugger pitch on a Saturday morning in training....

Our number 8 was built like a brick outhouse and was our star player - we were unbeaten for a school year.

We had a japanese school near here and used to play them from time to time. Boy they were quick, but if you caught them... smash

Played from the age of 8 and covered just about every position on the pitch. Spent most years at loosehead prop or hooker. At various times played regional schoolboy rugby in South Africa, Combe Down (Bath), Bath Spartans (the third team, for a few games only sadly), Berkhamsted, Marlow, Bahrain, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and Dubai Hurricanes. Now retired, sadly permanently, after a major ankle reconstruction, but planning on taking a coaching qualification at some point and helping the next generation to be better than I ever was...

Won the Daily Mail Cup at Twickers with QEGS Wakefield at Under 15 Level at Fly Half (Mike Tindall was outside centre)

Played for Yorkshire Under 16's and Under 17's at Full Back. Couldn't get in at 10 as a guy called James Lofthouse was keeping a certain Jonny Wilkinson out.

Played once against Oakham as a 10 and Lewis Moody broke 2 of my ribs

Played for Leicestershire Under 18's and secured a 6 month place in the Leicester Tigers Academy. Only played 25 mins as a sub before snapping my cruciate ligament in my left knee. Had key hole surgery on it 4 times since. Its never really healed properly.

Played for English Uni's vs Scottish Uni's

Played once for Henley 2nd team about 4 years ago.

Now occasionally play when mates teams need an extra player.

Normal stuff for me. Played at school, uni etc.

Went to Australia to do research, played for ANU (National University) and Australian Uni's. Also played for Canberra Vikings which was one of the feeders for the Brunbies. Best time ever playing rugby, Canberra is a very small rugby playing world so got to play in games and training with Stephen Larkham, Gearge Gregan, Stirling Mortlock and George Smith etc.

Now old and knackered so play when mates etc need. Normally found on the wing / fullback where I can still turn a bit of pace. back row is good fun too!

Looking at the numbers we have we could get a PH 7s team or something like that. How many of us are based in or around London?

WASPS U19 and U21 teams; BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY as a tight-head front row.

Made it as far the Evergreens (third team) in the days of when Rob Andrew, Huw Davies, Chris Oti, Nigel Melville etc played for the first team (and England, of course).

After a coaching clinic conducted by Alan Black and Billy Beaumont I was put forward as a trialist for SE England.

Then I got pi55ed.

Couldn't have wanted it enough.

Didn't realise you were at QEGS Chris. My best mate's brother is in the ski team and used to play rugby for them. He is in Year 12 now I think. I was at Batley Grammar School so we used to play your teams at most sports and we were usually crap!

Got kicked out of QEGS just after the Daily Mail cup win. Was expelled with a guy called James Whitfield (Yorkshire and Eng U18 Hooker). Then went down to a school in Leicestershire
