Hi

Given the high standard of the exciting English Premiership why is the England national team so woeful and unimaginative?

So frustrating to watch all those highly paid footballers making 'drying paint watching' exciting.

Mica Richards should have started & we desperately need a forward with pace & to have 3 playmakers in midfield doesn't work! You need a ballwinner to complement the providers.

I think I fancy Alan Hansen.

That is just as wrong and hideous as Englands performance.

had to turn over half way through, woeful just woeful, players picked out out of position, no heart no agression, passing was just utter tripe. In fact there was no aspect of englands game that didn't extend beyond mediocre, agreed MIca Richards was good and Barry wasn't to bad, but somebody please get rid of that lanky streak from up front, Crouch has no pace, he can't jump he can't shoot, and he's a cr@p dancer.
Other than that I thought england were OK,

Roll on Johnny Wilko at the weekend.

Maybe cos a high number of the good, creative players in the premiership are not English?!

And likewise, and I've said this for years, very few English players go abroad....

I was hopeful that when McManaman and then Beckham, Owen and Woodgate went to Real that it might encourage a few more players to move abroad and widen their footballing knowledge, with the associated benefit in international competition.

ENGLAND FOOTBALL - MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. We have alway been SH*T and always will be.

Why do all the Muppets that follow this stupid sport think we will ever be a world force.

Overpaid bunch of Chav Scum mostly - Bloody everywhere where I live (Work it out!) - Cretins in Ferraris that have no appreciation of they toys.....

I get really frustrated when people keep going on about the problem with Gerrard and Lampard playing together. We know they can't play together, we've seen it time and time again.

There is, however, a solution...DROP LAMPARD!!!

Steven Gerrard is ten times the played Lampard is. He wins balls, has a fantastic strike and his passing skills are top notch. Good example being the pass to Crouch last night.

On that note...Crouch. What the fcensoredk is that lanky streak of pcensoreds still doing in the squad? The guy runs like a newborn fawn, couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo and for a guy who is what, 6ft7(?) has no aeriel ability whatsoever. Watching him trying to win balls in the air last night was laughable. The Spanish defenders made him look like a ccensoredt. This cannot be the best striker we have available surely?

Erm.. the doors that way. If it's a stupid sport, then why on earth did you enter into an obvious football thread? just to display your hatred for something? How marvellous...

What annoys me most about McClaren is his attempt to show he had his own way of doing things was to drop Beckham.

The real hard decision he needs to make is a choice between Lampard and Gerrard and stick to it.

Beckham was shyt though. Problem is that england pandered to the one trick pony for too long and in many respect we still play the same way just not with the underperforming dickwhack.

Ie knock the ball around at the back for a bit, out wide then lump it forward wiht he classic hopeful punt. Same style of football using the same outlets that Sven tried and failed with for so many years.

To me the goalkeeper is the only position Mclaren should be worried about, because James & Robinson are both a bit unpredictable.

Once Owen and Rooney are fit and playing, its no brainer where Crouch should be in the squad... Backup from very capable strikers like Defoe. Even the broken Ameobi could have played better than Crouch.

Bringing back some of the other injured players - thinking of choice of Woodgate, Terry, Ferdinand centre backs. As much as there's something I can't stand about Ashley Cole, he's a decent left back.
Hargreaves, Parker, Carrick, plus there's others that could be the solid player in the midfield.
Creative outlet from players like Lampard, Gerrard, Dyer, Cole, again there's many others.

Maybe with luck a decent manager will be appointed next time. O'Neill would still be my favourite.

Agreed though, how long does the Lampard/Gerrard thing have to go on? Another vote for Gerrard. He's definitely better than Lampard.
