Just noticed it on the news. No Italian football matches will be played this weekend. It sounded as though the guy that calls the shots thinks Italian football should not cost lives, and will do all he can to prevent it happening again. Does that mean no more Italian football. And after winning the world cup too.

If you haven't seen the live footage, it's shocking. The match was brought forward to try to prevent any conflict between supporters. I don't mind mindless thugs hurting eachother, it's a big shame a policemen lost his life. There were also a number injured but I don't know if it was those involved or innocent bystanders.

I don't understand why it is something worth fighting about or someone dying over, especially someone who is there to protect people. Madness.

Absolutely right, it has absolutely nothing to do with football, just an excuse as always..... joking about the ban, but personally I dont follow football, never have never will, but sci-fi, well thats a different kettle of fish.

Just a great pity that this particular sport seems to end in violence on numerous occasions....

As a lover of all things Italian it saddens me to see what has happened. Football in Italy has been dragged through the gutter over the last couple of years.

What with the Moggi business at Juve, Fiorentina, Milan, Samp et al, going back a little further there was the trouble at the Rome derby now this.

I want football to be celebrated for the great game that it is not tarnished my morons.

I have been to a number of Italian games over the years and I was lucky enough to be in Italy during the WC last year. The scenes on the evening of the World Cup final last July will live with me forever.

Please don't let to hooligans ruin football.
