I'm a die hard Watford fan, living in Reading - with a 4 month old son who needs to be indoctrinated as soon as he understands words.

I'd love for him to follow his father and become a Watford fan - but I need to be realistic, travelling to Saturday home games isn't easy and eats up most of the day. Weekday games are generally out of the question due to work.

Do I push him hard to become a Watford fan, or do I allow him to follow his local team as he grows up (and actively support with him)? These are the only 2 options. Supporting Man Utd will mean no pocket money.

This is not about the relevant league positions of the clubs (sigh)...

Of course we may have moved by the time he is of supporting age, but it would be likely further from Vicarage Road!

I think you've answered your own question. If your a 'die hard' fan then your son should 'ideally' follow your team. That is untill he's old enough to make his own mind up. But hopefully he will be fully converted by then. I'm an Everton fan myself, as is my dad and granddad. Not to mention the rest of my family. There's nothing like shareing your thoughts with someone who wants to listen to them. I say buy him the shirt, take him to the match a few times. Try and go to the big games. I never went to a game till i was 19 and i still don't go that often but i was always, and still am a life long fan. you don't need to go the game all the time to support your team.

You will no doubt know what its like, once you've got the bug its there to stay.
