Since I can remember, I've always been a keen keep fit fanatic and runner, with an apetite for action sports of any kind. I've also been a longstanding gym member for a number of years.

In the last few days (only) I've managed to beat my personal best on the last 2 runs on my regular road circuit, which is 3.5 miles. This lunchtime, I beat Monday's PB by a whopping 12 seconds. I've just worked out my average speed, using Autoroute to get the distance fairly accurate and I'm now doing 8.6 mph. I have noticed that the prevailiing wind is 'blustery', but as I run in a circular path, surely it evens itself out anyway. Temperatures are noticeably colder this week as well. I've (just) turned 41 and seem to be getting over a heavy cold as well.

I am puzzled to say the least, because I don't particularly feel 'fitter' or that I've lost more weight/gained condition than at any time in the last few years. Does anyone have an idea why this may be?
