So who will it be?

Dowie at Charlton
Pardew at West Ham
Pearce at Man City
Roeder at Newcastle...

...My money is on Dowie.

Boothroyd at Watford is untouchable - a living god bow

Toughie. I would say Roeder is on borrowed time.

Think Pards is deffo on borrowed time, if we lose to Blackburn
I could see him going, think Glum Rodent is 2nd favourite

Hope they dont get rid of Pards for Rodent! Both jobs
are a poision chalice to some degree

Although, to be fair, when he sent us down he had a brain tumour, and this time at Newcastle he has no strike force.

I still don't rate him, though!

lets have a look at Roeders past form...

Gillingham, 1st season 7th, following season relegated and Roeder sacked
Watford, 1st season 7th, following season relegated and Roeder sacked
West Ham, 1st season 7th, following season relegated and Roeder sacked

Newcastle, 1st season 7th, following season...

Hmmm scratchchin

Its a tough one really. I get the feeling there's a slight backlash against the sacking culture, especially with managers who've only had the job a short while - give 'em a chance to get the job nefore being too hasty. The only managers who seem to be having a tough time yet have been in the job some time are Alan Pardew (although recent results suggest the Hammers are going to be just fine), and Stuart Pearce. Blackburn could (should?) be doing better but I'm positive Hughes is safe.
I just can't see past Roeder getting the boot first, even if he's only been doing the job a short while.... a club of Newcastle's stature shouldn't be anywhere near the bottom of the premiership and they look emminently beatable right now. It took a penalty shoot out to get past Watford, a team they'd have expected to brush aside not very long ago.
Southgate isn't exactly excelling, but at least Boro' are not in the relegation zone (not quite!) and Steve Gibson has a good record of keeping managers on for the long term.
Dowie seems to be struggling to get to grips at Charlton despite having some class players at his disposal, Curbishley looks an even better manager now that the job has some context. Of course Curbs was there so long who's got any idea how much patience the board has? They couldl sack him if he loses this weekend, or maybe they'll stick by him for seasons to come.... cant call it really.
All the promoted side managers are safe as houses, I think they're all doing a great job.

My top 5:

1:Roeder He's crap, basically?
2owie How much time will he get?
3:Southgate Must do better, but expectations perhaps not so high at the moment?
4:Pearce Inexperience showing? Only a couple of results away from the mire.
5:Pardew Needs to keep current form going. Will the new board fancy him if the takeover goes through?

We all wanted Roeder out yonks before he keeled over but knew it wasnt going to happen - I went to Old Trafford and saw us get whopped by Manure 6-0 in the Cup and there were no shouts for Roeder out as we knew that Terence Brown would stick with him.

It took is unfortunate collapse and some inspired/lucky results to get us close to surviving that year and to be honest, the damage was done by then. You look at the side he had with us, Kanoute, SInclair, Di Canio, Defoe, David James and Joe Cole and he still couldnt do it, he has much worse at the Toon so what hope does he have, saying that, we did alright last year with a limited side who played well over their capabilities and we had a limied amount of injuries which helped as well.

Personally, I cant stand the bloke and was hoping for a Watford win the other day to see the back of him, but that result may save him, and look at Fergie and Arsen Winger, close to getting the sack a few years ago, a few good reults and hey presto, best managers in the world (allegedly!). Funilly enough, AV job was saved by beating us in the cup and going onto win it - funny how that always happens to us!!

Rant over!!

And the winner is Ian Dowie.

Cue images of other nominees looking disappointed but politely applauding.

I bet Simon Jordan is chuckling a bit now!!!!! Just think, a few months ago, everyone was saying that Pardew should go and Dowie should replace him, then we get promoted, do ok in the league and get to the FA Cup Final - and now Dowie is out of his 2nd job in 6 months!!!
