Well at least we didn't get the Arsene Wenger I didn't see it routine.

It was a blatant dive ... even the ref apologised afterwards to Harry for giving the penalty. Not that it Pompey much good but hey its the thought that counts (not).

For Jol to defend it is unbelievable really.

All this business about giving Zakora a ban is just bollox.

He cheated. They all cheat.

Let's hand out bans to any player who dives, pulls shirts, goes over the ball, etc etc

It's part of the game now...live with it. I'd LOVE to see the F.A. come down hard on cheating, but to come down on divers and not all the other cheats..?? And as for banning Zakora... why? Let's retrospectively ban Pires, Coles Ashley and Joe, Ronaldo, Heskey, Drogba, Lampard, Gerrard, Van Persie... and they are just the ones that come immediately to mind.

But Jol said: "He (Zokora) assured me that he didn't dive. He said he was off-balance and fell down when Pedro Mendes challenged him.

"I believe he was off-balance because I know this player and I have to believe what he says. You can see him going in all the time and sometimes he does look off-balance.

"But this was not a normal dive. In fact, I don't think I've seen a situation like this in this country before.

"I can understand Harry Redknapp being upset but I've been upset myself over a couple of things in the last two years.

"Some you win - some you lose. At the time, it looked to me like a penalty and it obviously looked that way to the referee as well."

Doesn't sound too bad to me - he isn't justifying diving and doesn't have the Wenger "didn't see it" excuse. As a Spurs fan I may be a little biased but I didn't scream for a forth TV official when the goal against Man Utd didn't stand due to the ref not seeing it; not so long ago (and that one was in injury time at the end of the game - this penalty was in the First Half - had Portsmouth gone on to win the game nothing would have been said) .

Just one of those things, not the first time it's happened, won't be the last.

Still a lot of positives to take out of the game, and 13 points out of 7 games is great.

and 40 is even better, we're a third of the way there!

I don't have any further aspirations until we finally have our new stadium.

if there's a better case for retrospective punishment for cheating I havn't seen it.

The goalkeeper coach* on MOTD made a good point.

What's the difference between the retrospective punishment given to Ben Thatcher's elbow and this situation? Both obvious infringements of FIFA's rules, missed by the officials at the time but caught on camera..

* Can't for the life of me remember his name!

Difference is that the Thatcher incident was punnished because it involved physical violence. Zakora, cheat though he is, is no worse than a multitude of other players who cheat, many of whom have been caught on camera in similarly embarrassing ways.

So it's o.k. to do what you like as long as no-one gets injured?

How could you retrospectively punish him and benefit Pompey?

If you ban him, that in theory benefits teams yet to play Spurs, which we could end up fighting for position with.
