Europe are definitely the favourites with the bookies, but I have a sneaking feeling that the US of A might just have a better chance than the odds make out. They have plenty of rookies who don't have the massive reputation and egos which have dented their chances in recent tournaments. Personallu I think the European team have plenty of experience, some good pairings who will work well together and enough talent to get through in the singles on Sunday.

I love the Ryder Cup. A true sporting highlight, wish it was every year.

I have to say I find Woosnam less than inspiring. You felt with others, particularly Torrance and Sevie, that their passion would carry the team through. I just don't see that with Woosnam but I hope the players feel differently. The captain is so important.

Come on Europe.

The rain and wind will help our lads conditions are poor to say the least.

Looks like its going to be an interesting couple of days with Hurricane George hanging around, then again when the Americans lose they will just blame it on the conditions.

yes This is a fantastic event. Always good to see the Yanks get a hiding! hehe Does anyone remember a thread on P+P a few months back? "Beginner`s golf bats." Don`t think I`ll ever watch golf again without thinking of it. Hilarious.

I wouldn't be so sure. Tiger and other Yanks have won a few opens in recent years on windy links courses.

Yep golf, Americans don't have a chance, too many unknowns in this type of game, and I think Tiger has been way too iffey recently and especially in match play.
