I know what a great move for Sunderland

Very few of the news channels are reporting it

Just heard it on R5. As yet unconfirmed, but a huge story if true.

Most interesting.... and somewhat ironic, if you consider who used to hold the post! hehe

Now that could be a smart move. Keane will just be a figurehead until he learns the job.

What happened to the "world class manager" Quinn was on about? Still good luck to him.

If this does end up being, I can see Keano being the successor to Alex Ferguson.

It's not Keane.

I have it on good authority that Sunderland will announce the appointment of Steve "Interesting" Davis as their new manager today.

The thinking behind the move is that even this early in the season Sunderland are already so far behind the rest that they need snookers.

That would be Mick McCarthy, now our manager(Wolves). Both championship sides, and due to meet each other on November 25th!

Listening to his press conference, he seems to have mellowed-out somewhat?

Chairmen won't put up with a foul-mouthed yob in quite the same way a manager will if he also happens to be a star player.

Keane has a new career to build
