Collingwood 100* ..... and Cook not far behind!

Maybe all those doubters will stop saying that's he's 'not a test batsman' now!!

Cracking days play, thought we might collapse at one point, but good on Bell, he's playing for an Ashes trip.

Some good bowling to finish too.

So what's the story with PH and Cricket then?....
1. Serious lack of cricket fans.
2. Serious lack of interest in a non-Ashes series.
3. Serious lack of membership awareness that the "World Cup" forum has now become the "Sports" forum.

For the record, the match fizzled out to a predictable draw.

many phers seem to think its a boring game.

Shame because I think its the most intelligent popular sport around.

I watched the last (in the end) ten overs yesterday as was a little disappointed by the lack of imagination - we just ran out of idea's and let Pakistan bat their way into a draw.

In answer to your question though - nope there are not enough cricket fans on PH. Don't give up though we'll turn this forum back into the "World Cup" forum next year!!!

lack of interest could have resulted from the fact that it's no longer available on terrestrial TV

i think cricket is one of the more demanding and best games going (prob because I play it)you have if youre a batsman to face various styles of bowling so you have to read/guess in my case what the ball is going to do and if youre a bowler you have to try and fool the batsman.

not to forget the tactical side of things

I love cricket me. However, PH tends not to be my main focus of attention for such matters. The over-by-over commentary on the guardian website tends to keep me entertained most days of a test or one dayer.

My little bro went to see the first day with my uncle in the MCC section. Saw a great day's play and a century (I was working )

It was a shame that the declaration wasn't a bit more daring but then if Strauss had been caught out we would still be slating him now (and batsmen from the subcontinent seem very adept at chasing down totals recently.)

For the most up to date scores and to annoy folk in your office with knowing whats happened first - try the barmyarmy.com score pages. Apparently 4 balls quicker than cricinfo and about 3 days quicker than the BBC!
