But allot of the commentators are saying England will struggle at the next world cup because it is held in South Africa and it will be too hot for them.

But isn't this time of year the South African Winter?; I’ve checked the weather channel and it is currently around 20C in Cape Town. Perfect football weather I would have thought

Shows how much 'they' know

Jo'burg is so high up that they can suffer from frosts mid-winter...

If England, team and manager, don't buck their ideas it might not matter if it were 50degC or -50degC...

So 30-odd degrees in Germany isn't as hot as 30-odd degrees somewhere else?

Sure is
Unfortunately for England, and this is where the unfainess of playing in a European country comes in,Sweden only played in 20-odd degrees as every one of their players was lucky enough to be playing under a big cloud or shadow every time they got the ball

My point is really that England played far better in Mexico,Italy and Spain...so the "heat" thing doesnt really wash.
On paper the team that just played was superior to the previous ones and the temperature seemed to be used as an excuse.
And before you start about sour grapes!!!,my wife is English,I spent 20 years in London and I did GENUINELY support England...

But my point was that you said 'it's only Germany ffs'. As I said, 30+ deg is 30+ deg.

Fair point, but what I was rather clumsily trying to point out,was that 6 of the last 8 were European,(and the 2 non-European teams were beaten)so heat quite clearly wasn't a factor.
You are of course correct, but if the W/C had been held in England this year, temperatures would have been broadly similar to those in Germany, especially last week.
