Robinson - brainless big punts up the park and very iffy on crosses.
Neville, Cambell and Beckham - past it now.
Play either Lampard or Gerrard, not both. I'd have Gerrard captain.
Start straight away with new blood and never mind if we lose a few games but get a consistent team for 2008 in Austria.

[hat eaten] the boy hargreaves did well in the end!,ide like to see him in with either Lamps or Gerrard,he has so much energy.
Ime with you on Beckham, dont get me wrong i like him and hes done well for us but its time he was rested as i think complacency has crept in ,besides Lennon has been a revelation.
On the subject of Lennon ,hes a youngun thats done well so lets see more of Walcott and start building our team for 2008.

Get rid of Lampard he cannot cut it on the bigger stage...probably over rated at Chelski as well
Robinson is not entirely inspiring cannot think of an alyernative though that is consistent
Hargreaves was a revelation ..I wonder if a premier Div club will go for him

John Terry - two poor world cup tournaments
Frank Lampard - pour and will be 32,for me too old for an English midfielder
Michael Owen - I doubt he'll recover
Gary Neville - purely on age he'll be 35
David Beckham - Totally lost it only there because of merchandising
David James - He'll be 40 and he's hopeless
Sol Campbell - will be 36

I dont want to see 4-5-1 appear either or any unfit players selected

Certs atm

Paul Robinson
Steven Gerrard
Wayne Rooney
Owen Hargreaves
Michael Carrick
Aaron Lennon

Can't comment on Theo Walcott as ive not seen him play

He can start with Rooney.

A decent manager will know how to deal with his temperament, its only shown up when SGE has played him out of position

Didn't see much from Rooney, just bad temper and hissy fits. The rest of the team must loathe him in private, all that attention and all he can do his toss his boots in the air.

I'm guessing that either....
1. he'd had a few tins of McEwans the night before and was still pissed
2. the Sat connection was poor (snow on the screen)
3. got up early to watch and hadn't rubbed the sleep out of his eyes
4. just another grudge bearing sweaty
5. all of the above

Everything except picking the squad....

I don't for one minute think McClaren would have picked that forward line... look at Boro', whatever you say about them they have never been short of fire power!!!

I'm guessing he'd have left Walcott tucked up in bed with his soother and taken Defoe and Bent instead.... will be interesting to see his first squad!!!

Robinson is the best out there at the moment, but it will be interesting to see how Green and Carson develop in the next year or so.... and who knows, maybe Kirkland can stay injury free for 5 minutes!!

Rooney shouldn't be chucked out of the team, but he should be dropped to the B team and made to earn his place back. Yes Ronaldo goaded him, but he needs to learn some humility, and some time out of the first 11 would be suitable and beneficial IMHO. At the moment we have Pele's legs controlled by of George Bush's brain, and that's no use to us.

It's time for Beckham to go - it's been time for a long time. One guy who should definitely stay in is Joe Cole - that man has got some skills.

Cole, Cant defend, verdict plays left wing or dump

Terry, good but no Adams or Butcher, this may be the making of him i.e Adams Euro 88. Verdict stay

Ferdinand, did well and i have not been a fan of his in the past, Verdict Stay

Neville, stupid bumfluff, dump

Beckham, most overrated English player of the last decade, dump

Cole, played well even though out of position, stay

Lampard, his lack of pace shows through at World Level, dump

Gerrard, still a class act, stay

Rooney, a world class player and we dont have many, stay

Crouch, good club player not good enough at this level, dump

Hargreaves, played ok, good backup, stay

Carrick, great passer of the ball, needs to be first choice in the middle
with Gerrard.

Walcott, too young but great talent, and i have seen him play.

Jenas, joke, dump

Bridge, who else have we got at left back, stay

Carragher, crock of shi*e, dump

Sol, stay, solid pro.

Lennon, made an impact, stay

Owen, will he be the same player, i can tell you from personal experience no. You never recover fully from that type of injury. Feel sorry for the lad a good honest pro.

GIMPTON.........your not far away with your assesment,

Robinson..James???..you may as well put a pram in goal and pull the hood up. (GET RID)

Hargreaves... law of averages says you must have one decent game.(GET RID)

Owen...if I were a Newcastle fan I would be sh1ting myself,he's finished.(GET RID)

Lampard...watched himself on the big screen more than we did, if he looked at himself one more time I swear I would have booked a flight and strangled him.(GET RID)

Beckham... at last someone agrees with me, he could not get a game for the back street salmon tin dribblers.(GET RID)

...........and ofcourse ROONEY...I think if I were up front, on my own, with four defenders around me and the ball coming down to me with snow on it I would have been sent off too.(KEEP)

Owen who has score dmany important goals even after big injuries to go? Hes still the best proven strikr we have.
He had crap service. Id still put my money on him than anybody else if a chance had to be put away.

Terry....had an excellent world cup.

Ashly cole last nigth was excellent.
The whoel defence was.
Even the French tv pundits wer sayign that the portugese could get nothign otu the england defencse and were admiring the defenders. That is unusual for them to say such things about the englaqn team.

Gerrard...class.

Hardgreaves good.

Sol cambel? ?ust be joking....great in his tilme but getting to old now and not as rock solid as before.

Rooney....class.

Its funny how people look at a couplf of games then want to get rid of a player despite the fact they wer great for the previious 20 etc. eg Owen.

Beckham.....prob shoudl stop now possibly...not got the legs anymore possibly.
Put dont put the guy down over the past few years...he has won many a game and saved our asses many a time.

Pretty much spot on. He MUST get his head sorted out and only HE can do that.

As a "sweaty" (and how offensive is that??) I think you have some great talent to draw on for your national side but you have to cut the dead wood out first.

As for our national side don't you realise that in fact the football comes second to the party!! (almost) LOL

Sven's squad this time round was odd. Jenas, Walcott etc and other players who he obviously didn't like.

Not many players in the first team need changing. The system does.

He just does not stand comparison with world-class footballers. He has yet to score in cup finals yet fans keep elevating him to god-like status, or blaming others for holding him back. Granted, he has a way of getting the ball mid-field, tearing up the wing then making a decent pass, or keeping the ball for a goal kick himself. He may be committed but that doesn't make him a gifted, versatile player.

There speaks someone who knows absolutely all about football.
