The bloke should be banned, Did any of you see him Headbut Rooney before the game started.
IMHO the targeted Rooney knowing he had a short fuse and it worked. Yeah Rooney was stupid to pushing Ronaldo ( i dont think he was even getting a yellow for teh accidently groin tackle). They didnt target him Leaglly though buy giving him a hard time football wise, instead they used dirty horrible shamefull tactics... and that was from a fellow team mate at MUFC... I wouldt bee surprised if C R's house up north has been egged...
Was surprised with Alan Shearer saying aswell that he wouldnt be surprised if Rooney lumped him one onthereturn to MUFC training.

Are you sure about that?
The look CR gave Rooney as he walked off after it was unbelievable.
Rooney's laughter at the time looked more to me like him rising above it. But I guess eventually any hot headed teenager who's side isn't playing well is going to snap (he's a young kid who quite evidently just wants to play football - was no fan before this tournament, but he battles away and puts his heart into it. If all the others had done the same, we wouldn't be out). Hence the sly wink from Ronaldo as it finally paid off.
I would have loved for nothing more than Ronaldo to miss his kick (even if we'd still lost!). He's a disgrace to the game and I hope ManUtd fans give him the welcome he deserves, the cheating little low life.

Did you spot any cheating with his penalty kick?

Nope - the point being?
Nor was the challenge on Lennon a penalty.
And the tactics of our manager left a lot to be desired.
And Crouch should also be ashamed of himself for the hair pulling goal in the first game.
I honestly don't think I'm looking at this from a blind patriotic view. England played badly throughout the tournament and were lucky to get where they were. But once there, they didn't deserve to lose like that IMO. And I;m not convinced anything Ronaldo did had humoour aforethought...I suspect Big Phil has schooled them all in the mind game angle that seems prevelant in most teams.

The point being (no need for the agressive undertones btw), the "the cheating little low life" hit the back of the net fair and square in the end, ditto for the whole side. The same would be said if things were the other way round, penalties are a bitch unfortunately. Accept defeat in respect for the victors, if you can't do this, you're as bad as the cheaters.
Its a bit sad that we immediately have to resort to insulting the other team, instead of appreciating how far we got (IMO we were very lucky to even go this far), Id like to see England set apart from bad losers like Argentina.
imo imo imo imo

Apologies - not intended to be aggressive.

The other team put their penalties away. More importantly their keeper saved the England penalties. They're through, no worries.
I also agree England were lucky to get this far, and as implied we maybe shouldn't have but for cheating by one of our own. Poor sportsmanship from any team, including England, should be stamped out of the game.
Still, another world cup done

To 2010, where we take over Africa
Cristiano Ronaldo is without doubt one of the most gifted footballers in the world today, however that doesn't alter the fact that he prooved himself against England to be a greasy sly little toerag, he should be ashamed of himself....
No sympathy for Rooney either I am afraid, he needs to curb that hot head of his if he is going to become one of the world's great players....

It was a mild push, nothing more... the ref totally over-reacted, just as Kim Neilsen did in 1998.
Ronaldho was deliberately trying to wind him up and trying to get him in trouble for the accident contact, but.....
In hindsight he didn't fall over faking injury from the shove, so I'm guessing even he was a bit surprised at the red card.... though obviously delighted judging by the wink and that alone convicts of the crime!

As mentioned above this is all part of his plan to move from Man U.
It is a pity that Sir Alex sided on Ronaldo's side with the Van Nistelroy incident so what has happened now is that potentially Man U have lost 2 forwards.
My suggestion to Sir A is to kiss and make up with Van N and get rid of the Ronaldo

Im not actually sure CR actually did anything wrong
He's seen his team mate polaxed on the floor and reacted the same as just about anybody else.If you watch the vid there are a few players around, just CR was the nearest to WR
I'll wait to see why the ref sent of WR,although i think its for the push.If thats correct the refs at fault. If it was for a stamp then the ref should have been far more assertive when he blew the whistle

We will never see the best from him. It ought to be obvious to everyone by now that he doesn't have the temperament for team playing. He's a petulant bully. Players substituted shook hands with their team mates as they approached the bench. Rooney threw his shoes at the grass. Brittle bones and granny grabbing are his undoing. Can't be long before the booze adds to his weaknesses. Let's have some real athletes on the field like Hargreaves who put the game before fame.
Hes been brill for both Everton, MU and England (at Euro 2006).Whilst OH played well he'll never be able to generat a bit of magic that could win a top flight game,Rooney Can
