For those who wonder what the fuss is about, here's a compilation of Ronaldo clips. Scary.

Those defenders seem resigned to it being his - looks like it's glued to his feet.
It's a real shame he's lost his form/pace.

Thanks a lot for that. I have some of those in my memory bank. For those who didnt already, I hope it now puts all the hype about Rooney into perspective.

Makes you realise just how much biased censorship exists in our media. They shouldnt be allowed to hype up some players and bring down others. When did Sky or the beeb last put together a positive montage of Big Ron?

I hope he scores today and takes the record.

Imagine "that" Ronaldo in a side with Ronaldinho, Kaka et al. Awesome. I hope the old boy can rediscover some of what he was 10 years ago. He was amazing to watch.

The other impressive thing i how keen he is NOT to dive - in lots of those people are hanging off him, tripping him but he carries on

Quick, here's another thread that can be used to have a pop at Rooney/England...

Get in quick lads.

back at ya!

Prior to my post Rooney had one other mention on this thread, so it can't be that hard to work out what I meant.

By the way, not trying to argue the original point of the thread, there are some great moments in there, albeit many of them the same goal from 15 different angles! It's so good that it's worth seeing several times (the shirt pull one).

Ah! That'll be me, then

Look pal, I'm a biased Liverpudlian aged 45. My other views are posted elsewhere.

Well taken goal, nice step over, but no pressure from defenders so looked better than it really was... didn't have to break out of a jog!

I think the bloke is ing brilliant. Good player now, absolutely phenomenal 7 or 8 years ago, pre-injury etc. Still the best player Bobby Robson says he's ever seen IIRC. Not a bad judge.

Glad he has the record. Deserves to go down in the books. I hope he scores more so that he can't be caught in future.

He's starting to look a little fitter now as well. We may have a fully fit ronaldo by the time of the world cup
