Hmmm... I'm in a totally 'unconvinced by Eng-er-lund' frame of mind at the moment. But... Shearer? Dunno, does he have the minerals?

I would love to see Ian Wright in a motivator role.

And if Alan Hansen knows so much about 'quality', why doesn't he take Scotland to the next World Cup then?!?!

I think Shearer`s got the respect of the players. And yes, Wrighty would make a fantastic motivator. The man`s patriotic and wears his heart on his sleeve. On a negative note, so was Keegan.

Good move I would say, both for Shearer and England.

The only question mark for me, would be how M'cClaren and Shearer would get along, time will tell, but nobody can doubt his professionalism, and experience, it was one of Sir Alex Ferguson's biggest regrets he couldn't tempt him to Old Trafford, instead choosing to go to Jack Walker's Blackburn Rovers where his goals helped win them the Premiership title...

Throughout his long career, both with Southampton and Newcastle United he has been a credit to the game.....

Good for Big Al, exactly the sort of person to bring Rooney on to the next level IMHO.

Did anyone see the interview with Scolari today?

I caught a bit of it where he was asked why he turned England down...he said he wanted the job but insisted on seeing his current contract out but the FA would not wait...

And so now we have McMogadon.

Erm woops, just heard on a different radio station that he's considering the job and hasnt actually accepted it yet, whatever,i still feel he would be a valuable appointment and could perhaps draw on his experience under the top class managers that hes served under both at domestic and international level, hes also a gritty sod that that shows true battle with a 'never say die attitude' mixed with an admired level of discipline and integrity that i admire.
I feel that McClaren hasnt really experienced the variety of managers that Shearer has and as a consequence lacks something, hopefuly if Shearer accepts the job he could more than make up for this.

Problem is McClaren wont have the balls to drop stars if there not performing, no matter what his assistants may say , the buck stops with him.

Like Graham Taylor, Souness, Keegan and Gullitt!! Tossers all. Tho I think he would be an assett, even Big Sam would be better than MaClaren.

On MOTD last night Adrian Chiles asked him directly about this to which Shearer replied that he'd like to be in management one day, he hadn't heard anything or been approached by anyone regarding the job and that for the time being he was enjoying the pundit work on the telly.

I suppose you'll say that means he's definitely going to take it now...

Know what you mean, there's one radio station saying he's got the job,one saying he's considering the job...:confused,i wish they would wait till its a done deal rather than feed out false imformation.

No offence Rob, but I think that Steve spent enough time around a manager who has and always will have the balls to drop a player, big name or not, don't forget who and what team he worked for.
