Is it just me or were they in fact rubbish last night?

Kaka had a good game and I didn't rate him having seen his games in the Champions League.
Ronaldo was like Michael Owen.....i.e. did nothing.
Ronaldinho played a couple of decent passes but not much else.
Adriano looks like Ronaldos younger brother but with less talent.

The thing I was most impressed with was their defence which is traditionally their weak point.

Maybe like England they will get better as the tournament goes on.......

They really weren't very good at all ... stil they won. I was wondering if they simply turned up expecting to win and forgot they actually had to to do something about it.

Superb goal though.

Can England feel a bit more at ease now that the Samba Boys have disappointed too? Or are we not giving Croatia enough credit? (They did go at them a bit).

Ronaldo did (and looked like) a 'Matt le Tissier'.

Cafu looks like Roland Gift.

I thought Ronaldinho played a fantastic match to be honest. He just didn't have much backup, but he was always in there.

What i did notice last night is the sucking up to Brazil from some of the commentators, there were some class touches from Croatia that didnt get a mention, but anything Brazil did was "moments of Brilliance"..also when a fan got on the pitch the radio com said something like "this is rediculus he could harm anyone of these World class stars".

England have a bad game and the commentators start critisising,Brazil have a bad game and they say they are only "cruising" and in 2nd gear,FFS why do they big them up so much.

Past glories I guess - Brazils are recent.

I thought a lot of Brazil's flatness was because Croatia were actually pretty good.

Why did they play Ronaldo,he looks unfit and i doubt in his present shape would of got into most other teams in the tournament, but yes Croatia were good and i thought their fans gave them excellent support.

Motty's sycophantic commentary really got my goat. He'd say something ridiculously fawning about the Brazilians and then there would be a litle snicker just afterwards as if to 'qualify' his embarrassing comment.

If Croatia had any pace up front they would have whupped 'em.

To be honest, of late i have always found Brasil to be overrated. OK, they were exceptional back in the 70s and early 80s, but nowadays, they are not any different from any of the other decent teams out there!

Those bloody commentators and football pundits don't help, always going on about how exciting it is to see Brasil play, and what a moment it was last night that they had actually entered the world cup. The commentators over excitied remarks really wound me up - i wanted Croatia to win

The reason there is so much excitement around brazil was shown rather emphatically by Kaka. They don't have to try really hard because they have the talent and invention to score in an instant. Anyone of the 11 players could have jinked past a couple of men and unleashed a wonder strike, even Lucio. England don't have players with the same level of technique apart from maybe Rooney, Joe Cole and of course Crouch.

I won't be surprised if Ronaldo scores a hat-trick in the next game.

I disagree,Gerrard,Lampard,Beckham,Owen are all capable of wonder strikes and on their day can produce equal magical moments,if Ronaldo scores a hatrick then i will be very surprised,he looks to me like hes become far too comfortable with life and could do with a few weeks in a health farm.

At least he has a sensible haircut (i.e. none) this time
