Love the National Anthems and it was good to see the English NA sang in good voice but equally good to hear no disrespect to the Paraguay anthem.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!

Quality management by SGE.

If you're a fruit cake.

Wright was right, few will fear us now.

Worrying.

What's more worrying is he probably took the advice of his number 2 in subsituting Owen, his number 2 being the future England manager.

I sem to remember seeing an England performance like that before, and we blame the heat, well its generaly hot in he summer

How SGE can explain the substitution of owen with downing will be interesting.Carrick and Wallcot can enjoy the holiday as i doubt they will play any significant part in the tournament

I think he took Owen off because of our current lack of Rooney....[which is fair enough - cotton wool mode on]....but he should have then pushed Gerrard up front with Crouch [like the other week when Gerrard scored]...and put Carrick on instead of Hargreaves to hold in midfield...

He's demob happy....

Taking risks he normally wouldn't - like bringing the schoolkids along....a shame really, as it was his cool, calculated approach that made him a good choice for th job in the first place..any muppet can take stupid gambles, or watch the game dissolve and do nowt about it!

Sven had many options available to him,but he chose to play Crouch up front alone. He never tried this permutation in any warm up match so why now.Even when it was obvious it was not working he then pulled of Cole and put on OH.Tactically Sven's lost it

compare that with T&T,man sent of down to 10,Sweden pour the full backs forward. The coach sees this and puts an extra STRIKER on thus forcing the full backs back and relieving the pressure

Thus proving the best form of defence is attack

Attack is the best form of defence, especially when your opponent is desperate to score. Should have been 0-0.

WTF about Crouch, expected to beat the whole defence single-handed and then beat the goalie too? Madness.

No surprise we get leads then lose them, with bunker mentality.

And I haven't even mentioned the Mexican ref... Mexico - Paraguay...
