So, domestic and European seasons over with a whimper rather than a bang, apart from Stevie G's 35yd screamer - but we've had enough of that haven't we? Actually, no, but anyway......the World Cup is 3 weeks away and I'm moist with anticipation.

Our boy wonder is as good as out and we appear to be struggling to put together an 11 strong enough to do the job.

Does anyone think a nation other than Brazil is going to win? I'd have an outside bet on the usual underachievers; Spain and Holland, other than that I think we're going to see lots of teeth on the winner's podium again.

Ummm, if you mean Rooney, Sweden game onwards, mark my words!

Not too much of a struggle I'd say, world class back four, world class midfield, world class forwards.

Lets stay positive eh?

I think England have as good a chance as any...

Rooney will be around for the later games, the real tragedy is that Shaun Wright-Phillips is not going

I think Kaka, Ronaldo, Adriano and Ronaldinho will be worth at least a goal a game between them, going to be hard to contain them.

True...

But with their outrageous talent come instability as a team, we all know they can let their heads drop if things don't go their way...

90 minutes of English game pace and passion could do that to a team like Brazil...

Of course, if Brazil play to their full potential we are all screwed...
