Shoes for summer hiking
Discussion
For this year's summer family vacation, we are skipping the beach and going to the Austrian lakes and mountains, just outside of Salzburg.
Whats cool is the hotel has amazing childcare facilities and programs, so i can drop the kids in the creche for a morning and get some adult-pace exercise.
That means i will likely be walking some mountain paths in summer weather. For that, i need some shoe recommendations.
What will be lightweight and breathable enough for summer (i.e. not a full on Snowdon-spec hiking boot) but still have decent grip, arch and ankle support?
Nike ACG or Hoka all terrain trainers LOOK right, but do they actually have good support? Are they worth the money vs a less "trendy" alternative?
