Starts 28 Aug, who’s watching and what are you watching?
Australia is sending a team of c160 athletes, and we get pretty good coverage so I’ll be watching every day. Especially the swimming…
Swimming is what really got me into paralympics in London 2012. As a one time keen swimmer/triathlete it's easy to make excuses about being mediocre because you arent 6 foot 6 and dont have size 13 feet ............ and then you watch paralympic swimming. Starts 28 Aug, who’s watching and what are you watching?

There are some astonishing para athletes in all sports. We’ve been around a lot of swimmers and track/field athletes over the years, and they’ve all got a story to tell, some by accident…
Such as Alexa Leary in the Aus Paraswim team, classified S9. She was a very good triathlete before a bike accident about three years ago put her in a coma. The decision had been taken to switch the machine off before she stirred. Had to learn to walk again and now will be at the Paras, having taken the S9 100m world record during the Aus Open back in April.
Also a fan of Jaco van Gass, GB cyclist. Not just as an athlete - he has complete Cape Epic mtb race - but also for the support provided to up/coming youngsters, and he’s far from the only one - lots of support around.
