I've probably signed up to all the major platforms at
some time in the past, safe to say I've never been
a player that has made money.
Losing far more than winning, I've tried all the strategies,
being cautious, being over confident, bluffing too much, bluffing too little.
Over betting on crap hands, under betting on good hands.
However it's all good fun as I just play the 25 cent tables, although I did win
$30 with 4 kings on a bigger table. Whoo ho.

I used Zynga Poker for years but then stopped playing maybe around 10 years ago; fancied getting back into it but I must have registered with an old email I no longer have and it won’t let me log in without verifying via the email address. Shame as I had quite a few chips banked in there (not worth much in reality, but plenty for playing a few games).
I used to play a lot of online poker as well as 'live' games with my mates.
I used to start with £15 budget and withdraw it when I got to £150. Did this many times. It was good fun for a while.
I even got through several online satellite games and qualified for the final round to win a seat at the WSOP. Sadly, didn't win it.
I got sick of the ridiculous number of 'bad beats' that happened online. It almost seems to be designed to make the games last for the shortest time possible by encouraging lots of punters to bet at the same time as they all have good hands.
Not saying this can't happen 'live' but it never happened anywhere near as often as online.
I just got sick of it and stopped playing. I still have my accounts open and play occasionally but don't really win anymore as I'm too out of practice and when i do its completely down to luck!
TL;DR - its good fun but expect it to annoy you with outrageous 'luck' from other punters.

Indeed, played online enough to be very, very suspicious of the bad beats, and the amount of either bots or punters using perfect software assistance. Personally wouldn't do it anymore, live or nothing. I used to start with £15 budget and withdraw it when I got to £150. Did this many times. It was good fun for a while.

Tells a story as to how short this thread is right now, it would have been multiple pages long back in the heyday.
I played a lot between 2002 and 2016ish and won chunks in the early days when everyone was rubbish. The general player is now too good for me in hold 'em so I only play the other games, the more obscure the better. Only times I play online now is the occasional non-hold 'em tournament; 8-game, Big O, PLO6 etc. Much prefer the social aspect of live poker and the fact everyone is still fairly even in the non-hold 'em games.
The recent exposes of bot farms etc. in online poker is really going to hurt, I'm not sure how the operators are going to fix it either.
