I've just "upgraded" from a Garmin Vivoactive 3 to an Apple Watch Ultra for running but I'm really underwhelmed with the Strava app. I'm a long time Strava user for running, cycling, sailing, SUP etc, and I'd hoped the Apple app was going to be brilliant. The big disappointments for me is that unlike the Garmin I can't see what my pace is at that precise moment, it will only tell me for the previous km. So up a hill if I need to hold 5:15 per km to be on the pace, I can't...all I know is that when I get to the top I should have been faster. Also, the units chosen is across all activities, so if I run in km, and then change activity to sail or SUP, I have to swap to miles each time.

So is there an Apple Watch app that gives me:

-Real time pace
-Customisable fields (I'm long sighted, don't wear glasses for running, and just want a few data fields so the numbers are easier to see)
-Will sync with Strava when back near my phone/wifi
-Spoken cues or at least haptics/bleeps per km

It can be a running only app, as I will continue to use Strava and either my watch, bike computer or phone for proper cycling/SUP/sail/walk.

Thanks!

This not work?

"In the Watch app on the phone, go to Workout->Workout View->Outdoor Run and change the parameters displayed on screen. Current Pace is an option, though it isn't the default"

Ah, the native Apple workout app? I hadn't thought of that...d'oh! I'll do a little walk and check it uploads to Strava...
