Rent bike for triathlon?

Morning all,

Anyone know whether it’s possible to rent a bike to take part in a sprint triathlon?

I’m based between Leeds and York if that makes a difference but could travel to collect.

It will be possible but probably expensive, surely you know someone you can lend you one? Alternatively You could buy a half reasonable drop bar road bike for £200 from Facebook/eBay, use it for the tri and sell it for not much less after

I have seen companies with hire bikes at triathlons.

I actually don’t know anyone who has a road bike unfortunately. Yes I thought of that. Not sure I can be bothered with hassle of buying then selling but will as a last resort.

Not training on anything for a sprint. Worst that I’ll have is a sore bum over that distance.

Just for the record - no pun intended, that bike sold for £2.5K as one might expect with that groupset.

Would be interested to learn how if OP got sorted in the end.

I'd just buy something on Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree. I've completed numerous Olympic distance tri's on a £250 Decathlon bike, probably worth lees than £100 second hand and it has been great. It also means you'll have something to train on.
