I love the darts! It's what Christmas is for.

The first week is often a bit poor in general, with a few standout matches.

I'm a fan of John Part, both for his commentary and his darts (wins 2003/8?), but he's got so fat it's surely not safe for him to be around pointy objects any longer?

His opponent did a proper job there once his nerves settled after the first couple of legs. Quite a story for him.

First day I've sat down to watch the darts in these championships and the crowd.... shocking.

"Boring, boring tables". "Stand up if you love the darts", "Kolo/Yaya Toure song", "Chase The Sun" after every set and that's about it. Oh, and "Don't take me home"....

And some of the announcers think they are celebrities with the way they shout the scores, Russ Bray being the worst.

Almost unwatchable now with the sound up.

Ha, fair point but it literally is the same regurgitated st in every game, I thought it might vary a little. Occasionally you get a top star like MVG or RVB who have their own songs and fans, I guess, but the vast majority is just banal rubbish.

RVB said some things in the build up to this that were a little bit disparaging towards Price. Played on tv twice this year and RVB had beaten him in both those games. All it did was fire Price up really. I'm not his biggest fan but he totally dismantled RVB, made him look amateur at best!

Yesterday was the best day of darts so far. Souter brilliant and MVG v Sulovic was class game too! But Smith comeback against Schindler was epic!
