21 year old Tanysha Dissanayake has been left bedbound after suffering from Long Covid. As someone who was diagnosed with Lon Covid last week I find this heartwrenching. I hope that the people who dismiss this virus as nothing more than a cold, will hang their heads in shame. It is also interesting to see how Emma Radacanu's drop in form happened after catching Covid.

There are literally zero details in that article that you’d be able to make any educated guess on what happened or why.

All we know is she has a symptoms of her heart shooting up to close to 200bpm when training for short periods of training.

I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for her but I suggest you gather more data before jumping to huge assumptions.

With no due respect to you, I was not making assumptions, I was simply quoting from the article. You may wish to retract that statement.

Sadly sportspeople retire due to ill health or injury all too frequently.

Fortunately, the number of elite sportspeople retiring as a result of long covid would appear to be zero.

What a ridiculous statement, particularly as I have posted an article about an athlete who has had to retire due to Long Covid.
There seem to be a lot of Covid deniers on this forum.

Hmmm. Joined in 2021, empty profile, and already throwing "Covid deniers" about.

I think I'll pass.
