Anyone here do Spartan races? Or other OCR
Discussion
Looking for a 2023 challenge. I do / have done long distance running and triathlons in all sorts of exotic places, but I'm a bit bored of all that and have heard about the Spartan series of races.
From a starting point of being fairly aerobically fit but also weak as a kitten, it feels like I could reasonably aim for an end-April 2023 'Beast' (21km, 30 obstacles) and then, all things going well, an Ultra i(50km, 60 obstacles) in October 2023.
So ... anyone here do them, or other obstacle races, and can give me some pointers?
Ta!

Only started doing them this year.
Stared out with no running at all, did a Wolfrun in April first exercise I'd done in years. Then my boss mentioned Spartans to me so thought I'd have a go.
Wolfruns are more chilled and get all types of people doing them. As mentioned Spartan is for alot taken more seriously and alot of men with no tops on flexing themselves, not for me that one
They are great fun and as I'm not a massive fan of just running suit me great, i find the challenge of an obstacle the part I enjoy the most. Next year will be doing a couple Trifecta weekends so that'll be fun. The open classes are where you want to be to start as these a like minded group of people who are there for the challenge.
Will also be looking at doing some Nuclear events but being 3 hours drive away makes me want to pick the right ones I attend.
