Smith is a bottler. I can't stand him tbf, there are better more deserving players out there.

He's had some good chances to win majors and never taken any.

News to me - Just checked.. He passed away on 19th April aged 65, after suffering with dementia.
I have to say I watched and enjoyed the darts back in his era and he will be sadly missed..
R.I.P. Mike..

Really disappointed in Ted. He was always my favourite BDO player, and one of a minority of BDO players who went on to actually hold their own in the PDC too. Beautiful throwing action, and was box office in his hey day.

Terrible to see him behaving like this.

Only 54 as well. He looked a lot older than than that when he won his world championships. He must have only been early 40,s then.

To be fair, some of the darts aren't bad, but the broadcast quality is shocking (I've seen many better Youtube productions!), Bobby George is bringing all the cliches out and the players are soooooo old now and it is body fat central :-)

Kept meaning to catch it just to see Phil, but didn't actually get around to seeing any of it.

I've got into the Premier League Darts on a Thursday night of late, so much so that I keep on encouraging the missus to go out with her mates on a Thursday night so I can watch it in peace!

I like the format, quick turnaround of games, you getto see a lot of big name players in a short space of time and a very good standard.

I've been a fairly big darts fan for many years now, and the World Championship and premier league were my two that I'd try and watch as much as possible.

It became a bit of a tradition on a Thursday to watch the darts and have a few bets on the matches. Back in the old format, you'd have 5 matches, and each one COULD end in a draw. So the odds on guessing all 5 right could be awesome - I was one dart away from £2,500 from £10 on one night.

But the new format has taken out the option of a drawn match, so most of the odds tend be really boring. I guess if you're not betting on the matches then maybe the new format is more interesting, but personally I'd love it to go back to how it used to be.
