China does actually have real ski resorts so why the hell are they using a mountain with no snow and using artificial snow ?

Fake snow has been used in lots of other Olympics during the years. Beijing is not the first and wont be the last.

Whats the issue?

It's not very good to ski on. Faster than real snow, it contains more ice IIRC.

I doubt that Olympic athletes who do most of their training on fake snow give two sts that China is using fake snow.

The downhill racers prefer an icy track to a white fluffy one. They were doing 80mph this morning.

Because the mountains with real snow are in the Uyghur regions and the Chinese authorities would rather not have the world's press focussing too much on that part of their country.

I guess my point is the Olympics are a farce and so is the committee awarding winter Olympics to people who wont use real snow

i know, all downhills are done on ice. Because race authorities want the racers to be quicker, but that ice is usually made from real snow. Fake snow ice is actually more sticky than real snow ice.

I skied the WC slalom course at Levi just after it reopened to the public. It was like sheet ice - utterly horrible to ski on and utterly terrifying in equal measures.

Takes me back. I skied The Lauberhorn at Wengen just after the race, a couple of the jumps were closed but as you say - terrifying.
