Must deserve her own thread now, reaching the US Open as a qualifier at the age of 18!
No sets lost, and after debuting at Wimbledon only having to retire in the 4th Round her playing ability was clear to see.
So engaging with the crowds, a charming and warm personality, and actually pretty modest when doing her press interviews.
She is the real deal and could be "The one to beat" over the next couple of decades.
I'm sure Sabalenka will be up there too, her relentless powerful style will always be a challenge, Bencic too and hopefully Halep will be back competing soon. And if Naomi Osaka can get to grips with her mental health issues that can only be good for the game.
Women's tennis looks more promising that it has in ages and with a fine young Brit in the mix.
Emma can win her first US Open title on Saturday... Come on "Radacando" !

I was worried that her Wimbledon problem might have been a huge mental stumbling block for her and she might disappear from the (relative) obscurity from where she came.
It shows tremendous strength to recover from that and make a Grand Slam final at such a young age. We will be watching and cheering her on!

I've only had an occasional interest in tennis, i.e Wimbledon when Henman/Murray were doing well.
But this remarkable young woman has really done so much to inspire and entertain that I'm now a big fan.
I've watched all her games and have enjoyed them all. I even set an alarm for 2am last night to watch her semi final.
She has played brilliant tennis and thoroughly deserves her success. But what has really drawn me in has been her attitude. She's played the game fearlessly and with a smile on her face and she has clearly been coached well with the sports pyschology side of the game; control the controllables, be in the moment and concentrate on the next point. It's really exceptional how well she does this and keep her cool. Her opponents just seem to crack in the face of her apparent belief/confidence/coolness.
A special mention for her engagement with the fans, she takes time for the selfies and autographs after each game. After last nights game, she was giving her wristbands to the clamouring fans who were all reaching out for them She spotted a little girl and asked the security guard to giver her wristband to her, which some grown man snatched out of the security guards hand. After her on court interview, she went to the security guard and appeared to ask the guard if she got her wristband to which he shook his head. She then handed her towel to the guard and pointed out the girl it was to go to so she got her souvenir. It was very classy

And given this is PH......it seems she's a bit of a petrolhead as well
From BBC article said:
Having been encouraged to take up a variety of sports by her father Ian - including ballet, horse riding, swimming and basketball - she was particularly enamoured with motocross.
"I was racing go-karts for a year or two when I was younger - about eight - and then at 10 I transitioned into motocross," she told Amazon Prime earlier this week.
"I'm into motor sports but I couldn't carry on with it as my tennis career progressed. It turned out pretty well."

She might have given up motorsport to pursue tennis, and that seems like a wise move right now! - But I bet she'd love one of these as she's not long passed her driving test From BBC article said:

First ever qualifier to reach a grand slam final is quite an achievement.
And no one can ever take her name out of the record book for that either......there can only ever be one first of anything.aeropilot said:

Got a hint of this on Ch4 GP Coverage tonight, Danny Ricciardo fan so she received a personal message wishing her all the best. Wonder if she's as good at Motocross ? From BBC article said:
