I've just picked 4, i'm hoping the 100/1 comes in, theres no point betting if you only going to win your stake back smile

You never just get your stake back if you win you know, you also get winnings. Hence the name.

The trainer gets £375000 and the jockey is paid from that.

Given her status in racing right now and the she’s the first female winner of the Grand National I don’t think it’s the winnings from the race that matter. Ms Blackmore will never be short of work/earning opportunities now which is probably worth far more than race earnings.

I had £10 to win on Jett @ 100-1, thoughts turned to what I will spend the £1000 winnings when the horse was 7/8 lengths ahead, then it all went wrong frown

Incorrect. The jockey gets 10% of the winnings as does the trainer, so £37,500 each. The owner of the horse in this case JP McManus gets the remainder (£300k)

Each jockey apart from amateurs gets a riding fee which is about £160/race

So. Right amount. I just quoted the wrong person as getting the cash. Its still £375k and then divided up between them.

Yes the total purse is allocated to your account by the BHA, so they pay the jockey, trainer and you get the balance minus any other monthly expenses like entrance fees/gallops fees etc.
