Was removing an old bush in the garden and found 2 old large metal bins filled to the brim with golf balls must be a few thousand. Some of them are in old shopping bags of Woolworths era and some are boxed look to be mid 80s early 90s. Are golf balls worth anything, take down the tip or worth going through and selling?

Not worth a fortune but you might get a bit for them if the local club lets you put a flyer up:

Random... I'd pop to the driving range and hit away for hours until all gone

I used to walk our local golf course and collect ones I found. Eventually sold the good ones title list pro v 1s for a quid a ball to mates and gave the money to charity then gave the rest of the balls to the charity shop to sell for something like 4 balls for a pound.

Had 600 balls in a year of collecting. Record find was 59 in one day haha

I’d imagine they’d turn to dust on the first hit. They might do for a mini golf place.

Depends how big they are, if they are the old size, probably worth next to nothing.

I own a Sports goods business and have bought and sold many thousands of second hand golf balls over the years.

If they are the newer 1:68 size you should be able to sell them easily enough for around .25p each to Golfers, providing they were a decent brand and not covered in cuts.

From the net:-

In 1974, The R&A took a significant step toward uniformity when they made the larger 1.68-inch ball mandatory in their Open Championship. However, it was not until Jan. 1, 1990, that The R&A officially outlawed the smaller golf ball.
