I’m a regular runner. I usually do 6km, 3 times per week.

I’ve run in Saucony trainers for years. Always a size 10 (my actual S hoe size), always a support shoe and every few years have gait analysis done.

I recently bought a new pair or Saucony. Within just a few miles, my right foot lost all feeling. Having persevered for about 30k my feet were in bits. I couldn’t run in them anymore due to the discomfort. Saucony were amazing, replaced them for nothing, suggested a half size up for this particular style. New trainers arrive. About 30k in and my right foot loses feeling after about 3 miles.

I’m at a loss. It’s taking all the pleasure out of running. I’m considering binning these trainers off as soon as I can, getting gait analysis and to hell with the cost.

Any other experiences or input appreciated.

Had this with my original pair of Adidas Boost. Had to stop mid run. Looked into different lacing systems. Happened another couple of times, even though I made a point of keeping the laces a bit looser. Then just stopped happening. I went on to do over 2000km in them with no issues! Sorry it doesn’t help you however - for me I just persevered for a week or so and that was an end to it.

For the first time ever running, a few weeks back, about 2.5 miles in, numb foot, pins and needles. Cannot explain why. It was dreadful.

seems to have been a one off: plenty of runs since, not an issue. might just be the vagaries of the human body and age perhaps ???

I’m not a runner but sometimes foot and leg issues stem from the back.

Laced too tight? Cutting off blood supply at the instep as your feet swell?

Ironically going up half a size might exacerbate as you would be lacing even tighter.

I had a pair of recent Sauconys and didn't get on with them at all - they felt massive.

I agree and think this is worth a thought. Plus tight laces too as mentioned.
