If he is still good enough , why not . Though doubtful he will be any where near his brilliant best .
This isn’t an argument from me, but one reason against it would be there are limited places available for competitors, there isn’t enough young talent coming through, so using up some places for old, ex-pros who fell out of the rankings years ago it’s possible to argue invitations like this are a bit short-termist (if that’s a word) for the sport.bigandclever said:

If the young talent are consistently good enough , I'm sure they will be recognised and get the breakthrough / invitations they deserve . This post reminded me of this ,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-TLSTAKAKg
Hendry declined a lot quicker than most of the other top snooker players - sure towards the end he could still be amazing over a handful of frames but not much more. After his last world championship final in 2002 (when he was only 32/33) he looked a shadow of his former self. He blamed this on having “the yips”.
In comparison the likes of Ronnie, Higgins, Mark Williams, Neil Robertson and even players like Bingham, Carter, Hawkins etc did what Hendry couldn’t do and maintained their form into their late 30s and early 40s.
I was a big Hendry fan back in the day but think he’ll embarrass himself coming back. Hope I’m wrong.

I occasionally watch snooker - so I'm not a die-hard fan. Enjoy it when I watch it.
Is there a reason why the older players (Hendry etc) can no longer cut the mustard against the youngsters? You'd think you could remain competitive for much longer....
