Just started back up playing squash, forgotten what a great sport this is.

It seems to be getting more and more played .

Any players here?

I used to play 3+ years ago.

It is a great sports, perfect for a quick lunch time fitness session. It is fun when playing against someone of a similar skill level, and the fitness aspect is second to none.

Unfortunately I would disagree with you on its popularity. They seem to be closing courts rapidly, rarely builkding new ones, and so finding a court nearby is getting more and more difficult.

I played regularly for 15 years or so but it was starting to take its toll on my knees so gave it up. Great sport though. Whoever invented the rule where you hit the other player with the ball it’s your point as he was in the way of the wall is a genius as it hurts like st I can understand why the police use rubber bullets.

Have to agree with this.

I've only be playing squash for 5-6 years but I've seen a few courts close nearby and space taken up by gym equipment (which, for the space a court takes up vs time in use doesn't seem surprising). That being said, some of the courts at more popular venues (i.e. university) are more tricky to get booked and my local gym it's nigh on impossible to book at court after work on in the morning on a Sat/Sun.

The workout is second to none, love it.

Avid squash player for nearly 40 years at a decent level.

It has had its day in terms of popularity and courts are indeed closing but it's still a great game and a great workout.

Always best to join a private members club if you can as the courts will generally be well maintained and you can find people to play of your own ability and join leagues etc.

Happy to answer any questions related so squash that anyone has!!
