WWE for kids? Alternative martial arts?
Discussion
My 9yr old son has decided he wants to be a WWE wrestler.
He’s a tough cookie and did kickboxing for 4 years. Unfortunately he got quite good quite quickly and ended up having to spar and fight boys bigger than him. He ended up quitting as he had his confidence knocked by taking some big hits from such lads. I was gutted when he quit as he really was quite good.
Google suggests there no such thing as WWE for kids and was just wondering what alternatives people may be able to suggest.
I am absolutely no expert in these matters so really would be interested to hear from any PH martial arts experts. My initial thought is BJJ as it involves lots of grappling, but happy to hear alternative suggestions.
Thank you.

My opinion? Wing Chun Kung Fu/Jeet Kun Do.
Show him some Bruce Lee and Shaolin monk videos - it's an art that takes many, many years to be semi proficient at, let alone good. Starting young is a VERY good idea. Skilled proponents are mesmorising to watch.
Amazing for fitness, amazing for movement & flexibility and hand speed also. It's a martial art that was designed for the smaller person.
He will love the videos I will guarantee it! Personally I never tire of them.

I watched a video that popped up on my FB a few weeks ago and have been bombarded with videos since!
Your post got me looking and I found the following list of training clubs.

The Pompey one does adult, teens and kids classes at £10 for the adult but a £5 for the rest.
I know it’s all acting but could be great fun!

You're in the north west and your kid wants to wrestle?
You're in luck, you have one of the finest wrestling schools there is on your doorstep which has a lineage to some of the finest wrestlers of the last 50 years.

The Aspull wrestling club runs out of the snake pit and has classes for 6-15 year olds at £3 a class. Your local Gracie Barra franchise will be charging triple that on a 12 month contract basis and a requirement to buy a £100 gi and pressure to attend seminars, enter contests and buy t-shirts etc.

Brilliant responses chaps, many thanks. Sorry for my slow response, we’re on holiday at the moment and are travelling so limited Wi-Fi.
I think Win Chun will be too close to the kickboxing he’s already done. However, Wigan sounds perfect. It’ll be a pain getting there, but hopefully worth it. I’ll definitely be talking it through with him. Many thanks.
